A Pretty Big Apple Deal: Zimmer Nominated for Four Radio Mercury Awards

Samsons versus the Goliaths.  Swimming with the sharks.  Running with the big dogs.  It’s that sort of thing, and it’s pretty darn cool.  But being the humble dudes that they are, they won’t do it on their own – so we’re gonna toot their horns for them.

Three members of Zimmer Radio Group’s Creative Services Department recently trekked to New York City.  No, not for a Yankees game and $38 beers, though we’re told adult beverages did make it on the docket.  Josh Ryan, Brian Graff and Jon Sheltmire were invited to attend an annual ceremony that celebrates some of the best radio creative in the country.  Not small market taking on small market, etc.

This was everybody in the pool.  This was the prestigious Radio Mercury Awards.

The 2017 Radio Mercury Awards folks sent out a total of 42 nominations for the best radio commercials/campaigns throughout the entire USA.  Josh, Brian and Jon at Zimmer Radio Group in little ol’ Columbia, MO – received 4 of those, for their writing and production.  Remarkable and impressive are not big enough words.

Their nominations included ads for Budget Blinds, The Deuce Pub & Pit, Missouri Heart Center and Steve’s Pest Control.

“To be nominated for this award is pretty special. It’s a validation of what we do. To see our local clients on a list with the likes of Taco Bell, Pepsi, Motel 6, etc. means a lot.  Going up against creative giants is a pretty cool feeling”, says Josh.

Zimmer Sales Manager Christine Overfelt adds, “I was so proud when I heard Steve's Pest Control was nominated for a Mercury Award.  Having the right message is the most important element in a campaign and being nominated truly shows how dedicated our team is to getting results for Steve's and all of our other clients.  I am truly thankful to be able to work with our creative services team every day.”

“I’m not only proud every time I hear the ads, but I’m also grateful to be working with such a talented organization. Everyone I’ve ever worked with at Zimmer has always gone above and beyond for me and my brand.”
