- Zimmer's Director of Creative Services, Josh Ryan, as well as local voice and creative talent/radio personality Joe Lose were recognized for having some of the best commercials in the country during the Radio Mercury Awards. 2023 48th Annual Gracie Award
The Alliance for Women in Media, founded in 1951 as American Women in Radio and Television, supports and empowers women across media segments around the country through networking, education, and recognition. Their mission is to connect, recognize, and inspire women in the media industry, culminating in the establishment of The Gracies Awards in 1997 and a renaming to the Alliance for Women in Media in 2010, showcasing their dedication to representing and celebrating women's contributions in media for over seven decades.- Congrats to KAT Country’s Erin Hart for receiving a national Gracie Award
2023 Best of Columbia
- In June, Inside Columbia Magazine celebrated the Best of Columbia Gold Winners at the Country Club of Missouri. It was our best turnout thus far, with great margaritas and lots of amazing local businesses to congratulate!
- Best of Columbia is again seeing record-breaking numbers, with over 150,000 community nominations this year celebrating the very best of the Columbia community!
2023 Local Community Support and Charitable Campaigns
At Zimmer Communications, we deeply cherish the significance of nurturing the community we call home. Engaging in numerous charitable initiatives and events year-round, our commitment extends across the company as a whole, our stations, and even resonates through the distinct personalities of each station.- Children's Miracle Network had a record-breaking year as the event raised more than $260,000!
- Central Missouri Honor Flight Radiothon brought in $126,678!
- Zimmer Springfield radio stations raised $38,770 for Honor Flight of the Ozarks!

98.7 The Dove morning show hosts, Kevin & Chris, hosted a nearly sold-out “Pretty In Pink” movie party at Alamo Draft House to benefit The Breast Cancer Foundation of The Ozarks!

MC'd by KCMQ, the 17th annual Rootin' Tootin' Chili Cookoff raises money for Columbia's Boys and Girls Club of Columbia. This event raised over $80,000! We also took home the gold for Best Costumes, a reminder that we are a team of many talents!

The Como Man Show was also our most successful yet. With over 80 business booths and 1,500 people in attendance, this was a record-setting event for the year!

KWTO held the first Town Hall live broadcast on Wednesday, July 26th. “The Vicious Cycle of Homelessness in Springfield and Greene County” featured experts who assist or interact with the homeless in our community.
- KCMQ's 2nd annual True North Radiothon raised $32,500 to help victims of domestic violence in mid-Missouri.
- Zimmer stations in both mid-Missouri and Springfield hosted the One-for-One Food Drive this year. Together, we were able to raise AN INCREDIBLE 218,368 MEALS that will be provided to Missourians in need.
2023 Zimmer Accomplishments
Jonathan Durbin, Zimmer Recruitment Director and now a certified True Colors instructor, presented True Colors training to everyone in the company. One consistency between all sessions was how invested everyone was in uplifting and bettering our teamwork and communication. As we continue to grow departments in every market, we must maintain integrity and passion by ensuring every new team member is the right culture fit!
